Jennifer Hamelin, MBA


Jennifer currently manages the finances, operations, and organizational development at Brite Nites. She has been working with entrepreneurs for the past 9 years and was the Director of Operations for the Center fo Human Potential, the Program Director for Health Care Management Group, and a consultant for Synergistic Partners.  Jennifer received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master's degree in Business Administration, both from the University of Utah. She is passionate about the outdoors and enjoys spending time with her family skiing, hiking, camping, and fishing.


Nathan Hanamaikai, MBA


Nathan Kaoru Keikiokamakua Hanamaikai is 100% Mexiwaiianese (Mexican, Hawaiian, Japanese)! He was born on the island of California, but now resides in American Fork, Utah. He is a first generation college graduate and Masters’ graduate with a BA in Spanish Translation from Brigham Young University, and an MBA from the University of Utah. He is the currently the Director of Education at the Pete Suazo Business Center in Salt Lake City, Utah which aims to help entrepreneurs in the Latino and other under-served communities to start or grow their businesses. He also sits on the board for the Multicultural Services of Utah (


Emily Haleck, MBA


Emily graduated from Brigham Young University with a BA in communications, public relations emphasis, and a minor in English. She went on to work for New York City-based PR firm Middleton & Gendron and Salt Lake City-based advertising agency Riester, before moving to Bank of American Fork, where she now serves as the manager of marketing research, strategy and public relations. Emily recently received her MBA with a marketing emphasis from the University of Utah. She resides in Pleasant Grove, Utah with her husband.


Dennis Allen, MBA


Dennis Allen's joy is in helping individuals and organizations to consistently choose and persistently execute strategic actions to achieve meaningful results. A three-time marathon champion and outdoor enthusiast, Dennis is a perseverant, energetic leader with an empathetic heart. He is a friend to all. Dennis has excellent business acumen as well as solid professional experience in several areas including consulting, coaching, human resources, sales, health & fitness, investing, training & development, and marketing. Dennis is savvy in several industries including retail, airlines, higher-education, health care, real estate, recruiting & staffing and non-profit organizations. Dennis is described as the catalyst to creativity, problem solving, and add-value ideas. He is the change agent for organizational improvement and the champion of action execution.


Kelsey Nolte, LSSW


Kelsey is a licensed social service worker for the state of Utah. She has a bachelor's degree in social work from Brigham Young University. Her strengths lie in determining the needs of underprivileged individuals and connecting them with the resources they need.  Kelsey has worked with Community Action, The Boys Ranch, LDS Family Services, and Heritage Schools and has field experience working in tourism, case management, social welfare, and mentoring.  She is married and the mother of three.

A. Akash, MBA


Akash currently is a principal investigator & program manager at a private cleantech / materials science company firm where he has managed a range of projects with a cumulative budget of $1MM. He had complete business, managerial, marketing, and technical responsibility of a fuel cell insulation program. Akash has 9 patents pending, three of which are in the clean technology/environmental area. He has also worked at University Venture Fund where he conducted due diligence and made investment recommendations on a wide range of energy/environment related investments ranging from solar and ocean energy to green building materials. Akash has a B. Tech. (IIT Bombay, India), MS ( Penn State ) and MBA ( Univ. of Utah , 2008). He has held several elected posts throughout his student life and has actively volunteered for international non-profits like AID & ASHA. Akash enjoys traveling, meditation, hiking, camping, managing investments, current affairs & business magazines. He is interested in poverty alleviation and environmental sustainability using innovative socio-techno-business practices and by forging key alliances & partnerships.

Liz Carlston, MBA


Carlston is a top-rated national media relations consultant who can generate national media coverage within any existing budget. She has secured coverage for her clients in The NY Times, LA Times, USA Today and the Associated Press. As a product manager, she successfully developed and launched consumer products to the national marketplace while maximizing profits through cost reduction strategy & large volume sales at mass-market retailers.


Ryan Gibbons, MSIA


Ryan is grounded in many areas of information technology through practical experience. Comfortable communicating technology and security solutions at executive, managerial, and technical levels. SANS certified security professional with policy, awareness, risk, and compliance experience. In-depth knowledge of network communications, system behavior, and tech trends in society. Specialties: Risk assessment, security awareness, database design and implementation, program development, networking, hardware and software knowledge. If it connects to the internet, I've probably created something for it, helped somebody use it, fixed something on it, or studied it.


Benjamin Sill, MD


Dr. Sill is a passionate outdoorsman and humanitarian-minded individual.  Ben travels all around the world for adventure and medical humanitarian service.  Ben graduated from Weber State University and from the University of Utah in medicine.  He currently resides in Albuquerque, NM with his wife and three kids and practices medicine.

Walt McRoberts, MBA


Walt is a passionate outdoorsman with a love for mountainbiking.  He resides in Salt Lake City and brings a wealth of experience to the board with his public relations and advertising background.

Andrew Ives, MBA


Andrew, his four children, and his terrific wife have enjoyed great happiness
and success. This success is a strong motivation for him to give to those
who haven't enjoyed the same. Andrew has experience in the mortgage and construction industries.  He is currently engaged in the health care field. Passionate about working to better the world around him, his non-profit experience began as a ex-officio board member of TURN community services. More recently he volunteered as the Program Manager of University of Utah's Board Fellows Program.

Ben Nolte, MS, MBA, PE


Ben Nolte is the founder of Adventure Giving.  After graduating with both a bachelors and masters degree from BYU in civil and environmental engineering, Ben became a professional engineer, tourism entrepreneur, and MBA (University of Utah).  Ben now guides fishing and adventure trips on the Amazon River in Brazil with a focus on "fishin' with a mission" adventures combining both adventure and humanitarian tours.  The concept of "fishin' with a mission" and Adventure GivingTM were born following two moving life-changing experiences he had on the Amazon.
